Recruitment for Editorial Review Board of Water Biology and Security

Water Biology and Security is establishing an Editorial Review Board (ERB). As such, we are seeking early-career, enthusiastic and accomplished researchers to join us in advancing the journal’s mission of publishing innovative research in the field.

About the Opportunity

Apart from the Editorial Board Members, the ERB is designed to provide early-career scientists with the opportunity to:

• Gain editorial experience in a leading journal.
• Contribute to shaping the journal’s direction.
• Engage with a global community of water biology and security experts.
• Enhance professional development through mentorship and networking opportunities.

Outstanding ERB members will be recognized as Annual Excellent Reviewers by the Editorial Office based on their contributions to the journal.

Eligibility Criteria

Applicants should ideally:

• Be Assistant Professors or equivalent-level researchers within ten years of earning their doctoral degree.
• Have a strong background in areas relevant to water biology, environmental science, or conservation studies.
• Have published 10 or more high-quality papers in the past five years.
• Have experience with paper publication or peer reviewing for Water Biology and Security.
• Be proficient in English scientific writing; native English speakers are preferred.
• Demonstrate a commitment to high-quality research and scholarly communication.

Responsibilities

Members of the ERB will:

• Peer review two or more submitted manuscripts per year.
• Advocate for the journal within their professional networks.
• Promote the journal by presenting at professional conferences one or more times per year.
• Contribute manuscripts to the journal or succeed in inviting high-quality papers for submission.
