American Fisheries Society Fellows Designation 2024

The American Fisheries Society (AFS), the world’s oldest and largest fisheries science society, has named Dr. Yushun Chen and Dr. Dana Infante (Editorial Board Members of Water Biology and Security) among its eight 2024 Fellows. This prestigious recognition honors their exceptional contributions to fisheries research, management and teaching. The 2024 Fellows were announced at the 154th AFS Annual Meeting in Honolulu, Hawai’I, held from September 15-19, 2024.

2024 AFS Fellows: Joe Zydlewski, Gayle Zydlewski, Andy Danylchuk, Yushun Chen, Dana Infante, Bronwyn Gillanders; AFS 2023-2024 President Cecil Jennings; 2024 AFS Fellows Doug Austen, Wes Neal

Three other Editorial Board Members who have previously been designated as AFS Fellows are Robert M. Hughes (2016), Steven Cooke (2018), and Henriette Jager (2022).

Fellows Program: The AFS Fellows Program recognizes members who have made outstanding contributions across various fields represented within the society. These contributions may include leadership, research, teaching and mentoring, resource management and/or conservation, and public outreach and engagement.
