New Year Greetings from Co-Editors-in-Chief of Underground Space
Published 31 January, 2023
Dear colleagues,
We sincerely thank you for being part of the Underground Space community, whether as authors, reviewers, or readers. We wish you a wonderful and successful new year!
In 2022 as the number of manuscript submissions continued to grow, the workload of our editors, editorial board members, early career editorial board members and the reviewers reached peak levels. Nonetheless, with the joint efforts of our community, Underground Space has attained several achievements in 2022, including (1) reducing the average turnaround time for first-round review to nine weeks; (2) the Journal Citation Reports impact factor increasing to 5.327 (Q1); and (3) the journal being indexed by Ei Compendex.
In 2023 we will continue to offer open access without article processing fee. We will collaborate with major conferences to develop special issues on the frontiers of underground space, and explore opportunities to enhance our review efficiency while maintaining the same high standards. We will continue to optimize the experiences of authors, reviewers, and readers. With the support from the community, we trust Underground Space will maintain the momentum of growing towards a world-class platform for the communication of innovative research findings and practices for both academia and industry.
We look forward to a fantastic year working with you!
