Published 05 January, 2024
Dear colleagues,
We wish you a wonderful and successful new year in 2024!
We are grateful to have you as a valued member of the Underground Space community, be it an author, a reviewer, or a reader. With the increasing scarcity of land resources, the development of underground space has become unprecedentedly important to the sustainability of our society. It is the responsibility of our community to innovate and develop the best sciences and technologies to support the utilization of underground space.
In 2023, the journal of Underground Space published 106 papers, sharing the most interesting research findings and engineering practices in the field of underground space worldwide. With the collective efforts of our community, Underground Space received a JCR impact factor of 6.4, ranked in the top 10% among 139 journals in the Engineering, Civil category in SCIE.
In 2024, we will continue to provide open access without article processing charges from authors. We will work closely with our editorial board members to further enhance the experiences of authors, reviewers, and readers, and to build Underground Space as a shared journal platform for communicating the most innovative research and practices in the field of underground space for both academia and industry. We hope, by developing the Journal of Underground Space together with scientists and practitioners around the world, we can contribute to the better utilization of underground space worldwide!
We look forward to a fantastic year working with you!
