Xuesi Chen, is an academician of Chinese Academy of Sciences, the executive vice director of the Academic Committee of Changchun Institute of Applied Chemistry, and the director of the Biomedical Polymer Materials Branch of Chinese Biomaterials Society. He has been awarded with the National Outstanding Young Scientist Fund (2004), selected as the Science and Technology Innovation and Entrepreneurship Talent, and Ten Thousand People Plan by the Ministry of Science and Technology (2013) and elected as the Fellow of International Federation of Biomaterials and Engineering (2016). He is an associate editor of ACS Biomaterials Science and Engineering, and Advisory Board Member of Supramolecular Materials. His research projects include the “13th Five-Year Plan” of the Ministry of Science and Technology of China, the National Science Foundation of China, and other major projects. He has published more than 900 papers with more than 35,000 citations (h-factor: 99). He is author of two books, "Biomedical Polymers" and "Degradable Medical Polymers", and has authorized more than 260 patents. He has won the first Evonik Chemical Innovation Award, the Science and Technology Contribution Award of the Chinese Academy of Sciences, the sixth Hou Depeng Chemical Science and Technology Award, the Technical Invention Award of the China Petroleum and Chemical Industry Federation, and the first prize of Jilin Provincial Science and Technology Progress Award.
