LLM/ChatGPT/GPT-4 for Medical Imaging

Introduction:

The field of medical imaging has been rapidly advancing with the integration of machine learning and artificial intelligence (AI) technologies. Among these advancements, the use of advanced language models such as Large Language Model (LLM), ChatGPT and GPT-4, has shown great potential in revolutionizing radiology via elevating various aspects of medical imaging.

This special issue aims to explore the newest developments and applications of LLM/ChatGPT/GPT-4 in medical imaging. Through having access to diverse textbooks, journals, and research materials, these models are capable of producing and understanding human-like text, which could supply necessary context and prior knowledge to boost a variety of tasks involving medical imaging such as synthesis, reconstruction, analysis, segmentation, interpretation, automated reporting and more.

In keeping with the rapid pace of AGI development, our review process will be efficient and acceptance decisions will be made promptly.

Topics covered:

This special issue invites original research articles, reviews and technical notes that cover a wide range of topics related to the use of LLM/ChatGPT/GPT-4 for medical imaging. Topics of interest include, but are not limited to:

• Image analysis using LLMs/ChatGPT/GPT-4 for medical diagnosis, disease detection, and prognosis.
• Integration of LLMs/ChatGPT/GPT-4 in image segmentation, registration, and reconstruction.
• LLMs/ChatGPT/GPT-4 for image-based decision support systems and clinical decision-making
• Augmented and virtual reality applications in medical imaging using LLM/ChatGPT/GPT-4
• Explainable AI and interpretability of LLM/ChatGPT/GPT-4 in medical imaging
• Ethical considerations and challenges of using LLM/ChatGPT/GPT-4 in medical imaging
• Validation, evaluation, and benchmarking of LLM/ChatGPT/GPT-4 in medical imaging
• Integration of LLM/ChatGPT/GPT-4 with other imaging modalities in medical imaging
• Future directions and trends of LLM/ChatGPT/GPT-4 in medical imaging

• Manuscript submission deadline: July 31, 2023
• First round of reviews: August 31, 2023
• Revised manuscript submission: September 15, 2023
• Final acceptance notification: September 30, 2023
