Materials Reports: Energy (MRE) publishes impactful discoveries, prospective ideas, and insightful viewpoints at the intersection of energy research and materials science and technology. By providing high-quality, easy-to-access, and up-to-date information to the research community, MRE aims to motivate and facilitate innovation and development of key and novel energy materials. MRE follows a policy of rapid but prudent peer review, and rapid and open-access publication.

MRE welcomes original articles and reviews concerning all fundamental, engineering and applied aspects of energy materials and devices, particularly the ones applied to green and sustainable energy utilization. Technological topics include, but are not limited to:

  • Materials in batteries and supercapacitors

  • Materials in fuel cells

  • Materials in photovoltaic devices

  • Materials for hydrogen and solar fuels generation

  • Photocatalysts and electrocatalysts for energy production
