On August 13, 2024, the inaugural Liver Research First Youth Scholars Forum was successfully held in Guangzhou, Guangdong, China. The forum was organized by the Hepatic Surgery & Liver Transplantation (HSLT) of the Third Affiliated Hospital of Sun Yat-sen University and the editorial team of Liver Research. The conference was simultaneously broadcast live on the Liver Research video channel.
Prof. Yang Yang, Vice President and Vice Director of HSLT, as well as Executive Deputy Editor of Liver Research, attended the forum and delivered the opening speech. He co-chaired the forum with Prof. Jian Zhang, Director of the Second Department of Hepatic Surgery of the Third Affiliated Hospital of Sun Yat-sen University.
This forum was rich in content, featuring renowned expert, Associate Professor Chaoyun Pan from Sun Yat-sen University, who delivered a cutting-edge lecture titled “DNA replication stress and chemotherapy resistance” for youth scholars. Additionally, special sessions were organized where three young researchers in HSLT shared their clinical and academic insights. The discussions among attending doctors and students were both substantial and insightful, with many expressing that the conference significantly broadened their horizons and sparked new research inspirations.
The Liver Research Youth Scholars Forum serves as a valuable platform for youth talents to engage in exchanging on frontier and hot research areas and fostering deep cooperation. In the future, we will continue to host the Liver Research Youth Scholars Forum, with the goal of advancing the healthy development and progress of hepatology research.
