We are delighted to present Volume 1, Issue 3 of the Journal of Dermatologic Science and Cosmetic Technology. This issue features six research papers that spanning a range of topics, including:

  • Antioxidant activities of sea buckthorn polysaccharides and their potential application in cosmetic industry;

  • The effect of moisturizers containing endogenous lipids on skin barrier properties;

  • Preparation and characterization of a nanostructured lipid carrier for phenylethyl resorcinol,;

  • Optimization of high-voltage pulsed electric field-assisted Phyllanthuse emblica polyphenols, with studies on their  anti-inflammatory effects in vitro;

  • Efficacy of trinity permeation synergism in anti-aging; and

  • Strategies for reducing the irritability of potassium cocoyl glycinate in cleansing.

Additionally, this issue includes two comprehensive reviews: one on recent advances in exploring the properties and applications of hyaluronan, and another on the skin photobiological effects induced by blue light (BL) on skin, including clinical manifestations, mechanisms and protection against photodamage.

Furthermore, we present a practice guideline featuring expert consensus on technical specifications for in vitro skin penetration testing of cosmetic products using the Franz diffusion cell.

The journal’s scope includes topics such as dermatologic science, cosmetic ingredients, product development and intelligent manufacturing, and policies and regulations.
