Henry Liu

Dr. Liu is a Professor in Anesthesiology and Critical Care at University of Pennsylvania. He graduated from Tongji Medical University in 1983, had his surgery training and served as an attending surgeon at Union Hospital of Tongji Medical University. After relocating to USA in 1990, he did surgical research at University of Pennsylvania. Dr. Liu started his clinical practice by a surgery internship at Columbia University, anesthesiology residency at University of Maryland and fellowship in cardiothoracic & Vascular anesthesia at Emory University Hospital. He then served as the Director of Cardiovascular Anesthesia at Tulane University, and Vice Chairman for Academic Affairs at Hahnemann University Hospital. He served as the President of Chinese American Society of Anesthesiology (CASA) in 2013. He also served as the President of Tongji Medical College Overseas Alumni Association (TJMCOAA) in 2010 and Chairman of the Board of Trustees. Dr. Liu has over 100 publications and multiple abstracts. He published several books and numerous book chapters. He also serves as the co-Editor-in-Chief of JATM, editorial board in multiple journals and serves as a reviewer for prestigious journals as JAMA, NEJM etc. Dr. Liu has been active in professional organizations (ASA, SCA, CASA, ICAA, ACAPGP etc), academic activities, as well as community services.
