Innovations in Cardiac and Vascular Anesthesia
Published 31 December, 2024
Introduction
The landscape of cardiac and vascular anesthesia is witnessing unprecedented advancements driven by rapidly evolving technologies and surgical interventions. This special issue of Journal of Anesthesia and Translational Medicine (JATM) invites researchers to showcase the practices in areas such as preoperative risk assessment, optimization strategies, anesthetic techniques, hemodynamic management, neurological and coagulation monitoring, imaging advancements, cardiopulmonary bypass innovations, as well enhanced recovery protocols.
We welcome submissions that highlight how innovations influence clinical outcomes, recovery quality and cost-effectiveness in cardiac, thoracic, vascular and transplantation procedures for both adult and pediatric populations. This is a unique opportunity to contribute to a rapidly growing field to deepen our understanding and application of techniques in perioperative care.
Submissions to this special issue will undergo a high-quality, objective and expeditious peer-review process, with initial decisions typically provided within 3–4 weeks.
Topics covered
Authors are encouraged to submit work that addresses advancements in:
- Multidisciplinary preoperative decision-making and optimization
- Neurological and hemodynamic monitoring during procedures
- Innovative anesthetic and analgesic techniques
- Ventilation strategies
- Perfusion and cardiopulmonary bypass strategies
- Organ protection techniques
- Inflammatory modulation strategies
- Fluid management innovations
- Hemostasis, coagulation, and blood conservation techniques
- Mechanical circulatory support, ventricular assist devices, and artificial hearts
- Echocardiography-guided interventions and decision making
- Postoperative critical care
