Introducing the new Editor-in-Chief of ISWCR

We are pleased to announce that Prof. Pasquale Borrelli has been appointed the new Editor-in-Chief of International Soil and Water Conservation Research (ISWCR).
Alongside his role as an Associate Professor at the University of Pavia in Italy, where he leads the Environmental Modeling and Global Change Lab, Prof. Borrelli is a Research Professor at Kangwon National University in Korea. In 2019, he received the WASWAC (World Association of Soil and Water Conservation) Distinguished Research Award.
Prof. Borrelli’s research focuses on the assessment of human-induced land and soil degradation. His scientific contributions are helping to enhance our understanding of one of the most significant global threats to land and soil, environmental functions, and food security; namely, soil erosion.
Prof. Borrelli has published 80 scientific articles, including many in highly-ranked journals such as Nature, PNAS, Science Advance, Nature Sustainability and Nature Communications. His contribution to projects has resulted in global impact and his studies have been cited more than 7,600 times according to Google Scholar. He is the Committee Chair of the SSS2 Soil Erosion and Conservation division of the European Geoscience Union (EGU), and is a member of the Steering Committee of the UN FAO Global Soil Erosion Assessment.
