Published 12 February, 2023
We are pleased to announce Dr Dennis C. Flanagan has been appointed as new co-Editor-in-Chief of the International Soil and Water Conservation Research (ISWCR).
Dr Flanagan is a Research Agricultural Engineer at the National Soil Erosion Research Laboratory (NSERL), USDA-Agricultural Research Service, and an adjunct full professor in agricultural and biological engineering at Purdue University, USA.
Dr Flanagan is also the lead scientist for NSERL’s USDA-ARS National Program (NP) 211 Water Availability and Watershed Management project “Assessment of Sediment and Chemical Transport Processes for Developing and Improving Agricultural Conservation Practices”. He leads the development and implementation efforts related to the Water Erosion Prediction Project (WEPP), a physical process-based computer simulation soil erosion model developed by USDA since 1985.
Dr Flanagan’s recent research has contributed to the improvement of sediment transport relationships affected by subsurface hydrologic conditions, erosivity quantification, and climate change impacts on conservation practice effectiveness. He has authored and co-authored over 300 publications, including 141 refereed journal articles and 14 book chapters.
Please join us in welcoming Dr Flanagan to ISWCR!
