Giuseppe Lo Papa appointed as ISWCR board member

Prof. Lo Papa is an Aggregate Professor in Pedology and Soil/Land Evaluation, at the University of Palermo, Italy. His scientific activity and interests are the impacts of human and agricultural activities on soil properties and soil diversity, the use of innovative techniques and proximal sensors for spatiotemporal soil properties survey and mapping; digital/predictive soil mapping, quail-quantitative aspects of soil organic and inorganic carbon for C stock and Climate Change, soil quality and human health relationships; Soil degradation in arid, semiarid and temperate climates, Anthropogenic soil classification; Soil modeling and informatics for Land Evaluation, and Pedodiversity.
Prof. Lo Papa has published more than 40 articles in several journals and books and has been engaged in multiple international associations in soil science and currently focusing on the projects: SCALE - Managing Sediment Connectivity in Agricultural Landscapes for reducing water Erosion impacts and EOM4SOIL - External organic matters for climate mitigation and soil health, both funded under the European Joint Programme EJP-Soil - Towards climate-smart sustainable management of agricultural soils.
