Dr. Peter Strauss Appointed as Associate Editor of International Soil and Water Conservation Research

We are delighted to announce the appointment of Dr. Peter Strauss as an Associate Editor of the journal International Soil and Water Conservation Research (ISWCR).
Dr. Strauss is a distinguished researcher and senior scientist at the Federal Agency for Water Management (BAW) in Petzenkirchen, Austria, where he leads interdisciplinary projects focused on soil erosion modeling, hydrological processes, and sustainable agricultural water management. With over 25 years of experience, his work integrates field experiments, advanced monitoring technologies, and policy advocacy to address challenges in water conservation and climate adaptation.
A pioneer in erosion risk assessment, Dr. Strauss has developed innovative methodologies to quantify soil loss in agroecosystems at various scales, notably contributing to the Universal Soil Loss Equation (USLE) adaptations for European conditions. His research has directly informed national and EU-level policies on land use and water resource management.
He has authored over 120 peer-reviewed publications, and provided numerous presentations at conferences, workshops and seminars.
As an Associate Editor, Dr. Strauss will leverage his expertise to enhance ISWCR’s role in advancing global soil and water conservation research. His leadership will strengthen the journal’s commitment to bridging science, policy, and practical solutions for sustainable resource management.
