Dr. Amanda Carneiro Marques Joins as Editorial Board Member for International Soil and Water Conservation Research

We are very pleased to announce the appointment of Prof. Amanda Carneiro Marques as an editorial board member for ISWCR. Please join us in welcoming Amanda to the team!

Dr. Marques is an Assistant Professor in the Civil, Architectural and Environmental Engineering Department at Drexel University, USA. Her research expertise spans several critical areas, including water quality monitoring and modeling, environmental tracers and stable water isotopes, and sustainability and climate change research.

Dr. Marques’ work primarily focuses on assessing the effects of development, infrastructure, and climate change on water quality. She has applied hydrologic modeling and machine learning to identify sources of contamination, such as runoff from urban and agricultural areas, and assessed road salt and deicing chemicals trends and impacts to support the development of effective mitigation strategies. Her research also involves evaluating water demand and supply projections under various climate change scenarios and developing sustainable water management strategies.

As a board member of ISWCR, Dr. Marques will bring her extensive knowledge and expertise to the journal, contributing to the advancement of soil and water conservation research. Her role will include reviewing manuscripts, providing strategic guidance, and helping to shape the future direction of the journal.
