Celebrating the first International Geodiversity Day

Thursday 6 October marks the first UNESCO International Geodiversity Day in human history! To enhance awareness of this new event, and the importance of geodiversity, International Journal of Geoheritage and Parks (IJGP) will publish a special issue on geodiversity in December 2022. In addition, IJGP, which is attached to the Commission on Geoheritage and Parks of the International Geographical Union (IGU-COG), will participate in the organisation of a webinar hosted by IGU to celebrate this special day.
Our hope is that these initiatives will help us all think about what we can do to support the goals of International Geodiversity Day on a local, regional and international level, or as disciplinary groups.
