Horticultural Plant Journal (HPJ) received an impact factor* of 3.032 in June 2021, ranking it 5th in the horticulture category and 75th in the plant sciences category.

HPJ is an open access international journal publishing high-quality articles in all areas of horticulture sciences. Since the journal launched in 2015, it has published 33 journals issues featuring more than 210 papers. In addition to regular issues, HPJ also organises annual special issues on hot topics, such as horticultural plant genomes and abiotic stresses in horticultural plants. In 2022, the journal will publish a special issue on advances in cucurbitaceae research.
HPJ now is indexed in SCIE, Scopus, Biological Abstracts (BA) & BIOSIS Previews (BP), Directory of Open Access Journals (DOAJ), CABI Abstracts, Food Science and Technology Abstracts, CSCD, CNKI Global and CSTPCD.
