Scientific advances in Geodynamics and Earth Tides (20th G-ETS)

Published 04 November, 2024

Introduction:

We are thrilled to announce a special issue of Geodesy and Geodynamics, dedicated to the "20th G-ETS" symposium. This issue will spotlight scientific advances in geodynamics and earth tides, covering a wide range of topics including tides and non-tidal loading, geodesy for hazard monitoring, monitoring of subsurface fluids, new technologies, software and innovative concepts, time variable gravity and mass, and temporal variations of the Earth’s rotation.

For decades, this symposium has served as a platform for the exchange of high-level knowledge among experts, scholars and students worldwide, driving progress in addressing important scientific challenges. The development of advanced geophysical instruments has further enriched and expanded the applications of geodesy and geodynamics.

Topics covered:

  • Tides and non-tidal loading in space geodetic and subsurface observations
  • Geodesy for hazard monitoring (seismo- and volcano-geodesy, etc.)
  • Monitoring of subsurface fluids (hydro-geodesy, hydro-gravimetry, geothermal monitoring, etc.)
  • New technologies, software and innovative concepts (cold-atom gravimetry, gradiometry, etc.)
  • Time variable gravity and mass redistribution (glacial isostatic adjustment, ice mass changes, ocean dynamics, etc.)
  • Temporal variations of the Earth’s rotation

Important Deadlines:

Submission deadline: 31 May 2025

Submission Instructions:

Please read the Guide for Authors before submitting.
