Global Call for Digital Science Popularization Entries of “BioMed-Frontier Tok” Campaign

To global scholars, science popularization enthusiasts, and relevant organizations:
Chongqing Medical University and Chongqing Audio-Video and Digital Publishing Association jointly launch the “BioMed-Frontier Tok” campaign, which is now calling for digital science popularization entries globally.
This campaign is an implementation of a series of national plans concerning health and science popularization. Its aims are to build an international platform for science popularization innovation, promote the upgrading of the science popularization creation and transformation of scientific and technological achievements, and facilitate Healthy China initiative.

Exploring the Frontier of BioMed; Letting Digital Technology Empower a Healthy Future
Purpose and Significance
- To highlight major biomedicinal achievements and encourage the application of VR, AI, and related technologies to create internationally influential popular science content, thus promoting the upgrading of popular science creation.
- To establish a multilingual communication channel to foster global sharing of biomedical resources and interdisciplinary dialogue.
- To establish a collaborative mechanism of “scientists + media professionals” to explore and cultivate interdisciplinary talents with both expertise and communication skills.
- To promote the transformation of cutting-edge research fruits into public health knowledge.

Requirements
1 Content scope
(1) Key basic researches and emerging technologies in biomedicine.
(2) Pathogenesis, clinical translation achievements, diagnostic/therapeutic technologies, and novel discoveries of human diseases.
(3) Applications of AI in life sciences and healthcare.
(4) Hot topics in regenerative medicine and stem cell research, drug R&D and design, disease prevention and control, biobank and big data, and gene editing technology.
(5) Other biomedical innovations with science popularization value.
2 Formats
(1) Language: Chinese or English.
(2) Graph & Text
- Articles: 2000–5000 words, in PDF format. They should have clear themes, scientific rigor, and pubic accessibility.
- Webtoon: Cartoons or illustrations in high-resolution JPG or PDF format, with a size of ≤10M. They should be submitted as a complete set, and each image should be named sequentially.
Eligible works are those unpublished or published in non-personal media platforms from January 1 2023 to February 28 2025.
(3) Video: Short videos, documentaries, and animations in MP4 format, with a duration of ³5 minutes and a resolution of ³1080P.
3 Statement of originality
The work must be original and comply with the laws and regulations of China and international communication norms.

Selection and award
- Selection criteria
The selection includes online selection and expert evaluation, based on the scientificity, innovation, artistic expression, and communicability of the works.
- Selection procedures
(1) Works submission: The authors must submit all materials as required.
(2) Selection process:
- Stage 1: Preliminary screening
- Stage 2: Online voting for finalists
- Stage 3: Expert panel evaluation for First/Second/Third Prizes and Honorable Mentions
(3) Results announcement: The results will be announced on the official website of Genes & Diseases and related platforms, and follow-up promotional activities will be organized.
- Rewards and promotion:
(1) All participants will receive a certificate of participation, and winners will receive a certificate of honor.
(2) The top 20 unpublished works will be featured in the official website of Genes & Diseases and promoted through social media.
(3) Outstanding works will be recommended to international and domestic science popularization works competitions.

Other Matters
- No fee will be charged for participation.

Attachment 2: Commitment Letter for Participation
As a participant, I hereby commit to the following:
- I guarantee that I hold full, complete, and exclusive intellectual property rights to the submitted work and that it does not infringe upon any third-party copyrights. In case of infringement, it has nothing to do with the organizer, and I will bear the consequences.
- I participate in this campaign voluntarily and grant the organizer the rights to publish, reproduce, release, and disseminate the submitted work on the Internet.
- I shall bear the legal consequences of any legal disputes arising from defects in rights, or from false, illegal or improper content, or from any other unreasonable reasons
- I fully accept the terms of this Commitment Letter, and the right of final interpretation belongs to the organizer.
