27 members of our editorial board were selected as World’s Top 2% Scientists 2023!
Published 16 November, 2023
Stanford University recently released an update of list identifying the top 2% of the most-cited scientists across 22 scientific fields and 174 subfields. The report was prepared by a team of experts led by Prof. John Ioannidis, a distinguished professor at Stanford University.
The updated database (version 6) offers insights into various metrics, including citations, h-index, co-authorship-adjusted hm-index, citations to papers in different authorship positions, and a composite indicator known as the c-score. Version 6 of this database relies on the October 1, 2023, snapshot from Scopus and is updated through the end of the citation year 2022.
The dual focus on entire career trajectories and recent annual analyses, covering data up to the end of 2022 and citations received in the calendar year 2022, respectively, adds depth to the assessment. Selection criteria are based on the top 100,000 scientists by c-score (with and without self-citations) or a percentile rank of 2% or above in the sub-field.
The list aims not to rank scholars, but rather to present a multi-dimensional perspective of the state of scientific research from scientists. By providing a measure of scientists' long-term performance, the intention is to portray their influence objectively and realistically. Inclusion in this prestigious list signifies that the scholar holds a substantial global influence in their respective research field.
We are pleased to share that 27 Editorial Board Members from Forest Ecosystems (e-ISSN: 2197-5620, CN: 10-1166/S, p-ISSN: 2095-6355) earned a place in the World’s Top 2% Scientists list in 2023. Additionally, 20 Editorial Board Members were recognized for their sustained excellence and named in the World’s Top 2% Scientists list for their entire career.
