Virtual Special Issue title: 14th International Symposium on Plasticity and Impact Mechanics
Published 16 January, 2025
Introduction:
IMPLAST, the Symposia on Plasticity and Impact Mechanics, are being organized from last five decades and have been held in various countries such as Australia, Germany, USA, South Korea and India. IMPLAST has been serving a platform to academicians and researchers for sharing their research ideas on various themes of Defence Technology. The 14th IMPLAST symposium is being organized by Indian Institute of Technology Roorkee on 12-16 October 2025. The details of the symposium are available on its official website implast2025.iitr.ac.in.
The contributions to the symposium will be received from distinguished academicians and researchers from across the globe on various subjects such as blast, fire, impact, material plasticity, constitutive behaviour, damage and fracture mechanics.
We are looking to publish some of these novel contributions in expended and revised form in the Special Issue of Defence Technology. These contributions will be published following the standard procedure of the journal after a rigorous review process.
Topics:
The list is indicative and not exhaustive:
- Constitutive Relations
- Theories of Plasticity
- Behaviour of Materials at High Strain Rates
- Application of Theories to Structural and Manufacturing Problems
- Structural Crashworthiness and Failure
- Stress Waves in Solids
- Mechanics of Penetration and Perforation
- Fire and Blast Loading
- Earthquake Loading
- High Speed Impact Problems
