Decoding Infection and Transmission is a gold open access, peer-reviewed journal. It is dedicated to the global dissemination of the latest research findings about the characteristics and mechanisms of pathogenic infections and disease transmission. All analyses and use of data resources relating to infectious diseases are welcome, including epidemiological data, omics data and biological functional data. The journal aims to bridge the gap between research scientists, clinical physicians, public health professionals and veterinarians working in diverse infectious diseases.

Jiangsu Institute of Parasitic Diseases
Jiangsu Institute of Parasitic Diseases (https://www.jipd.com/), founded in 1950, is the center for parasitic disease control, research and training in Jiangsu Province. The institute builds National Health Commission Key Laboratory of Parasitic Disease Control and Prevention, Jiangsu Provincial Key Laboratory on Parasite and Vector Control Technology, Jiangsu Provincial Key Medical Disciplines (Medical Parasitology) and Jiangsu General Museum of Parasitic Diseases, and co-founded Public Health Research Center of Jiangnan University with Wuxi Medical College of Jiangnan University and Center for Tropical Diseases Research of Nanjing Medical University with School of Public Health of Nanjing Medical University. Since October, 2016, Jiangsu Institute of Parasitic Diseases was certified as the WHO Collaborating Centre for Research and Training on Malaria Elimination by the World Health Organization.
Currently, Jiangsu Institute of Parasitic Diseases has 15 departments, including the journal department, which publishes two peer-reviewed journals of Chinese Journal of Schistosomiasis Control and Decoding Infection and Transmission. International academic exchanges and collaborations have been initiated since the founding of the institute, and the institute had received Institutional Strengthening Grants from WHO/TDR in 1988 and 1992. As a training center for China-aid programs approved by Ministry of Commerce, over 2000 healthcare officials and professionals from over 70 developing countries across the world have been trained for tropical and infectious diseases control since 2002. In addition, experiences from parasitic diseases control in this institute have been transferred to other endemic provinces in China as well as countries endemic for parasitic diseases along the Belt and Road Initiative.
