Here's the interview we did with her:

1. Could you briefly introduce your current research field?

Our lab develops nanomedicine and biomaterials for gene and drug delivery, especially in the context of chronic and genetic diseases.

2. What obstacles or difficulties have you encountered in your research work? How did you overcome these difficulties?

Often the diseases we are developing therapies and advancements for are understudied themselves. Thus, many times, while we are developing technologies, we are also conducting discovery research regarding the pathobiology of the disease in order to find out how to best target them.

3. As an associate editor, what type of articles or which direction of research are you interested in?

I'm interested in innovative ideas that provide new knowledge and solutions, and the experimentation is performed rigorously.

4. What are your expectations for the future development of Bioactive Materials and its promotion of related fields?

I expect new biological mechanisms to be studied in parallel to the technological materials advancement.

5. What do you think is the most important quality for researchers?

I think a high standard of ethics, hard work, and being a team player are important qualities for researchers.

6. What advice do you have for young scholars who are determined to engage in scientific research?

Have a vision and make progress, whether small or big, every day. Additionally, remember that Science is a Team Sport. This quote summarizes that sentiment very well: "If you want to run fast, run alone; if you want to run far, run together."
