Additional information:

The special issue will be based on the best works (invited and based on selected abstracts) presented on the 15th International Symposium on Frontiers in Biomedical Polymers to be held in Porto, Portugal, from the 22th to the 26th of September, 2025.

This meeting is the 15th edition of a series of conferences organized by the International Scientific Committee over the past 30 years in different continents, with an interruption due to Covid. This meeting will commemorate our 30th years of organizing this very successful meeting. In addition to honor the founders of the meeting we will have special sessions to honor the recently deceased Prof. Julio San Roman and Prof. Allan Hoffman. Julio was one of the most active members of FBPS and one of our organizers. Allan was one of the most supportive members in the community and an inspiration for many years for all of us working on biomedical polymers. We will also have specific sessions to promote European Union - Korea collaborations following the recent adhesion of Korea to the EU Horizon framework programs. Several works will also be based on the very active research performed in this area by Portuguese based groups.
