Dr. Ling earned a joint PhD in Orthopedics from Sun Yat-sen University and the Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine. His research primarily focuses on the pathogenesis and prevention of intervertebral disc degeneration and low back pain, with a particular emphasis on the role of the vertebral endplate. As a principal investigator, Dr. Ling has received funding for over 10 research projects or grants, including those from the National Natural Science Foundation of China, the Guangdong Provincial Natural Science Foundation, and the Postdoctoral Research Fund. He has authored more than 40 SCI-indexed papers, with publications in renowned journals such as Science Translational Medicine, Bioactive Materials, and The Journal of Orthopaedic Translation. Dr. Ling's contributions to the field have been recognized with many honors, including being named a Shenzhen High-Level Talent, receiving the Excellent Postdoctoral Fellow award, and earning the Bronze Prize at the inaugural National Postdoctoral Innovation and Entrepreneurship Competition.
