Research Direction: the mechanisms of bone and joint degeneration; the study of bone and cartilage tissue damage and repair; the mechanisms by which osteogenic factors regulate homeostasis.
Achievements: Xiaochun Bai, Ph.D., Professor of Cell Biology/Bone Biology, currently serving as the Dean of the School of Basic Medical Sciences at Southern Medical University and the Director of the Guangdong Provincial Key Laboratory of Bone and Joint Degenerative Diseases. Prof. Bai is a recipient of the National Funds for Distinguished Young youths. Prof. Bai also serves on the editorial boards of journals such as J Bone Miner Res and JOT, and as a peer reviewer for journals such as NEJM and Lancet.In recent years, Prof. Bai has undertaken 13 projects supported by Major Program of National Natural Science Foundation of China, Major Research Plan of the National Natural Science Foundation of China, et al. Prof. Bai’s research articles have been published in journals such as Science, Cell Stem Cell, Cell Metab, Dev Cell, Nat Aging, PNAS, Ann Rheum Dis, and he is listed as a Highly Cited Scholar in China.
