Research Direction: surgical treatment of limb fractures, repair of limb injuries with a focus on both form and function reconstruction, hand and upper limb disorders, and surgical treatment of limb nerve injuries, and lesions, exploring new technologies and concepts for repairing soft tissue defects using pluripotent stem cells and biomaterials.
Achievements: Canbin Zheng, a researcher, associate professor, doctoral supervisor, and recipient of the Outstanding Youth Program of the National Natural Science Foundation of China, currently serves as the vice director of the Department of Microsurgery and Hand Surgery at the First Affiliated Hospital of Sun Yat-sen University. He has served as a visiting scholar at the University of Texas Southwestern Medical Center in the United States. Zheng has been selected for various honors including the National Natural Science Foundation of China Outstanding Youth, Sun Yat-sen University's and First Affiliated Hospital's Young Outstanding Scientific Research Talent Plans, among others. Currently, he holds positions as a member of the Committee of the Chinese Society of Microsurgery. In recent years, he has published nearly 60 related articles, with a key publication as the first author in the journal Nature in 2021. He holds three authorized patents for inventions and utility models and was awarded the First Prize of the China Industry-University-Research Cooperation Innovation Achievement Award in 2015. He has been invited to co-author four specialized books and translated one specialized book. As the principal investigator, he has led several national and provincial-level research projects.
