Development Planning Seminar for Advanced Exercise and Health Science Held Successfully at Wuhan Sports University

On October 23, 2023, the development planning seminar for the international academic journal Advanced Exercise and Health Science (AEHS) with the ISSN number 2950-273X was held successfully at Room 411 of the administrative building of Wuhan Sports University.
The seminar was organized and hosted by the Journal Press of Wuhan Sports University. Nearly 20 editorial board members from Australia, Canada, Belgium, the United States, Italy, Germany, and China attended the workshop in person. More than 20 domestic and international editorial board members joined the online real-time discussions through video connections. Professor Xiaohong Wan, Director of the Journal Press, and Professor Aiqun Li, Vice Director of the Journal Press of Wuhan Sports University, were also present at the seminar.
First, Vice President Wang Zhiqiang delivered a welcome speech on behalf of Wuhan Sports University and expressed the warm welcome and sincere gratitude to all editorial board members attending the seminar. He emphasized that the establishment of this international academic journal is a key initiative for Wuhan Sports University to enhance and support research into exercise and health sciences from across the globe. Vice President Wang also expressed high recognition to all editorial board members and staff for their hard work in the planning, preparation, initiation, and launch of AEHS. The successful launch of AEHS is also a grand gift to celebrate the 70th anniversary of Wuhan Sports University. Vice President Wang awarded appointment letters to the onsite editorial board members during the seminar.
Next, the editorial board members had in-depth discussions and exchanges on various topics related to the establishment and future development of AEHS, including website construction, manuscript submission system, editorial board responsibilities, manuscript invitation, review standards, development, publicity, and promotion strategies, future database application planning, and the forefront and hot topics in international research in exercise and health science. The seminar provided clear development directions for AEHS.
AEHS is the first international quarterly journal launched and established by Wuhan Sports University. Professor Wangang Lv, President of Wuhan Sports University, and Professor Andrew McAinch from the Institute of Health and Sport at Victoria University, Melbourne Australia are the co-editors-in-chief. Professor Ning Chen from the College of Sports Medicine of Wuhan Sports University is the executive Editor-in-Chief. Professor Louise Deldicque from UCLouvain and Professor Gianni Parise from McMaster University are the Deputy Editors-in-Chief. The editorial board consists of more than 50 internationally renowned scholars and experts from over 10 countries, including Australia, Canada, the United States, the United Kingdom, Germany, New Zealand, Belgium, Italy, Spain, Denmark, Brazil, Chile, and China. The goal of AEHS is to provide an academic exchange platform for scholars from all over the world to discuss innovative theories and methods, share original and innovative research and core technologies in the field of exercise and health science, and promote international academic exchanges. AEHS is committed to becoming a first-class academic journal with international impact, and to making further contributions to the promotion of global academic exchanges. The first issue is expected to be officially published in March 2024.
