Introduction: Dr. Gu's research interests and work are focused on the biomechanics of the musculoskeletal system. His team have long expertise in combination of modern medical imaging techniques for studying in vivo musculoskeletal system and joint function. These techniques allow the development of accurate and individualised biomechanical models of the musculoskeletal system to study joint and muscle forces and the loading of different tissues during various movements under sports activities. He has published more than 300 peer-reviewed articles in the international journals (30 H-index). He is a Fellow of Royal Society of Medicine, honorary professor from the University of Auckland (New Zealand), honorary Doctor Degree from the University of Szeged (Hungary). He is serving on, or has served on, several international conference committees as Program or General Chair, and Advisory Board (or Editor Board) of several international academic journals.
