Introduction: Alasdair is a physiologist with expertise in exercise and nutrition for the assessment and prevention of long term conditions. His early career included running clinical services and conducting research involving cardiopulmonary exercise testing. His PhD explored the effects of lifestyle interventions on postprandial lipid metabolism. Currently, Alasdair's work focusses on the assessment and treatment of cardiovascular disease and sarcopenia, and optimising prehabilitation strategies. He has a strong interest in digital devices and digital interventions and is leading or collaborating on trials in this space.
Alasdair is passionate about using his research to help with disease prevention, reducing disease progression and improving patient-centred outcomes.
