Oral and poster abstracts are now invited on the following topics and should be submitted using the online abstract submission system.
Health Transitions:
The Health Transitions stream of the Global Transitions conference seeks abstracts exploring system-based approaches to protecting and promoting population health in the context of emerging and projected health-related changes, both within and outside health systems. Ideally, submissions should identify risks and opportunities and propose pathways to transition to a more resilient and sustainable future. Topics include, but are not limited to:
- Climate science, impacts, adaptation, vulnerability, emissions, mitigation
- Anthropogenic impacts, biodiversity, land use changes, urbanization
- Global health, health co-benefits and co-harms, climate justice
- Transport and health, sustainable cities, urban transitions
- Global food security, sustainable agriculture
- Pathways to sustainability, scenario planning, societal transitions
Energy Transitions:
The Energy Transitions stream of the Global Transitions conference seeks abstracts that take a multidisciplinary approach to mapping the changes taking place in our energy system. Submissions on all aspects of energy will be considered, including, but not limited to:
- Energy resources, production, planning, conservation, efficiency, innovation, policy, and acceptance, as well as the social aspects of energy (transitions)
- Energy production, fossil fuels and renewable energy
- Transportation and distribution, energy and district networks, energy consumption
- Energy security and access
- Energy and climate change, climate change adaptation and mitigation
- Energy policy and planning, energy economics, societal transitions
Technology Transitions:
Technology has become the cornerstone of economic growth, social development, and the advancement of our civilization. Technology transitions describe the process of technological innovation and how these are incorporated in and possibly change society. The Technology Transitions stream of the Global Transitions conference welcomes papers that explore all aspects of technology transitions, including, but not limited to:
- Technological innovation and societal change
- Emerging and disruptive technologies and their role in business services, public services and social context
- Ethical aspects of technological innovations and transitions, social and economic benefits of technological transitions
- Green technologies, frugal technologies, technological innovations and sustainability
- Technology transfer to, from and between developing countries
- Responsible research and innovation
