Special Issue Call for Papers: Systems Metabolic Engineering
Published 24 May, 2018
We invite you to submit your paper for consideration to the Synthetic and Systems Biotechnology special issue before March 1st, 2019.
Metabolic engineering has greatly expanded the type and scope of molecules that can be derived from microbial metabolism. To understand and rewire these organisms, it is important to incorporate data-driven approaches based on high throughput ‘omics technologies in order to identify gene targets and optimize phenotypes on a whole-cell, systems level. While the most common approach is through genome scale models of metabolism, many data-driven approaches are currently being considered in the field. This special issue focusses on the integration of data driven models and pathway engineering applications.
The main topics of consideration for this special issue include:
- Systems Metabolic Engineering
- Data-driven approaches for metabolic engineering
- Genome scale model development and application
- New metabolic modeling tools
- Computational modeling for pathway engineering
- Stoichiometric models of metabolism
- Kinetic models of metabolism
- Machine learning for metabolic pathways
- Metabolic reconstructions
- in silico metabolic engineering approaches
- Retro-biosynthetic pathway design
- Flux balance analysis
- Integrating ‘omics datasets
- Metabolic pathway optimization
- Systems Biology
Yours sincerely,
