This journal is a peer reviewed, fully open access journal owned by Chinese Society for Rock Mechanics & Engineering. To provide open access, this journal has an open access fee (also known as an article publishing charge APC). The APC for this journal is USD 1200 excluding taxes. For all papers submitted before the 31st of December 2025, the APC will be waived making it free to submit to the journal.

Access Rights
All articles published open access will be immediately and permanently free for everyone to read, download, copy and distribute.
User Rights
A CC user license manages the reuse of the article. For articles published prior to Volume 2, Issue 3, permitted third party reuse is defined by CC BY or CC BY-NC-ND depending on author's choices. For articles published since Volume 2, Issue 3, CC BY license will not be used and the following user license defines permitted third party reuse:

Author Rights
For open access publishing, this journal uses a copyright transfer agreement. Authors will transfer copyright to Chinese Society for Rock Mechanics & Engineering, but will have the right to share their article in the same ways permitted to third parties under the relevant user license, as well as certain scholarly usage rights. KeAi Communications Co., Ltd. and Chinese Society for Rock Mechanics & Engineering will be granted non-exclusive publishing and distribution rights.
