Wei Zheng is Lloyd’s Chair Professor and the Chairperson of the Department of Risk Management and Insurance at the School of Economics, Peking University. He obtained his Bachelor, Master, and Ph.D. degrees in Economics from the Peking University in 1995, 1998 and 2003 respectively. His expertise lies in the insurance and social security. He has published over 90 papers in the academic journals. He serves as Director of China Center for Insurance and Social Security Research (CCISSR) at the Peking University, and President (2024-2025) of Asia-Pacific Risk and Insurance Association (APRIA). He is a member of the Board of Directors of China Insurance Society, and of the Board of Directors of China Association of Social Security. He won the Shin Research Excellence Award from the International Insurance Society and the Geneva Association in 2008.
