Ruo (Alex) Jia is an Associate Professor of Insurance in the School of Economics, Peking University. His research field is insurance economics, including insurtech, insurance institutional research, insurance regulation, social insurance, and catastrophe risk management. He has published in the Journal of Risk and Insurance, Geneva Risk and Insurance Review, Journal of Banking and Finance, and Economic Research Journal, among others. He is the principal investigator for the major grant of Social Science Foundation of China. He serves in the Editorial Board of the Geneva Papers on Risk and Insurance-Issues and Practice, is an Associate Editor of the European Journal of Finance and the Risk Management and Insurance Review, and is an Editor of Risk Sciences. He is the Director & Collaborating Expert on Digital Technologies for the Geneva Association. He obtained his Bachelor (2008) and Master (2010) degrees in Insurance from the School of Economics, Peking University and Ph.D. in Finance (2016) from the Institute of Insurance Economics (I.VW), University of St.Gallen (HSG) in Switzerland. He was a Casualty Underwriter in Swiss Reinsurance Company in 2013-2016.
