Prof. Majeed Mohamad graduated from Baghdad University with a BSc (with honours) and MSc in 1976 and 1978 respectively. He obtained his PhD in the School of Mechanical Engineering from Purdue University in 1992. Prof. Mohamad has published more than 230 papers in refereed journal articles and conference papers and has chaired and organized several conferences on computational heat transfer and transports in porous media. He has been invited as the keynote speaker at numerous conferences and NATO meetings. He has developed many computational fluid dynamics (CFD) codes for energy systems for industry in USA, Japan and Canada as well as the Advanced Solar Air Heater. He has contributed to the engineering education of students from various countries around the world (Iraq, Turkey, Cyprus, Tunisia, Poland, Canada, France, Brazil and China) as lecturer, invited lecturer and thesis director. He is a permanent reviewer for many thermofluid journals, over 30 papers per year. His research interests include Energy engineering, Solar energy, Energy conversion and storage, Thermal, Biosystems and biomedical engineering, Microfluidic and nano technology, Computational methods, Lattice Boltzmann Method, Heat, mass and combustion in porous media, and fluid flow.
