Introduction: Stuart's research focuses on the mechanisms of fatigue associated with exercise performance and how these are modulated by sex differences or different environmental conditions. To study fatigue I have experience of using a range of non-invasive stimulation methods (e.g., transcranial magnetic stimulation and peripheral nerve stimulation) to elicit force and electromyographic responses. Additionally, I am interested in the recovery from very intense or damaging exercise along with the phenomenon known as the repeated bout effect. Finally, I am also an active researcher in the area of cross-education and believe this is a novel method to promote recovery from unilateral injury.
