ChemPhysMater is a multidisciplinary, peer-reviewed journal. We welcome original research that advances understanding, and particularly relational design, in chemistry, physics, materials science and the integration of these fields.

ChemPhysMater publishes both theoretical and experimental studies, including novel concepts, short/critical reviews and commentaries at the interface of physics, chemistry and materials science. Topics covered include, but are not limited to:

  • Synthesis, assembly and applications of materials including 1D and 2D nanomaterials, particles, films and gels, etc.

  • Colloids and interfaces

  • Theories and computations in physics, chemistry and materials

  • Soft matter, biomaterials and biological applications

  • Atomic, molecular, optical physics and interdisciplinary physics

  • Advanced characterisation techniques

  • Functional materials and related applications in optics, electrics, magnetics, mechanics, energy and biomedicine

Shandong University, or SDU - under the direct jurisdiction of the Ministry of Education - is a key comprehensive university with a long and honorable history, a broad variety of disciplines, strong academic strength and distinctive characteristics, which has had a great influence both at home and abroad. In 2017, the SDU was chosen as one of the first group of China's high-level universities to be listed in the double first-class university program released by the central government of China.

Shandong University has developed by leaps and bounds in recent years. There are 47 first-level doctorate programs, 52 first-level master's degree programs, 98 programs for undergraduates and 46 post-doctorate research programs - forming a complete system for the cultivation of first-class talent. At present, 20 subjects have been listed in the top one percent of subjects in the Essential Science Indicators (ESI), an index showing the competitiveness of a subject published by the Institute for Scientific Information. With professional research advantages and excellent human resource, SDU publishes scientific journals in different subjects regularly, including chemistry, physics, materials science, biology, clinical medicine, energy, civil engineering, control science, mathematics, computer, etc., promoting discipline exchange and enhancing international influence.
